Box Office Battle: Final Weekend Estimates

This weekend in Film Lingo’s Box Office Battle, 21 Jump Street is push far ahead of the Lorax for what looks like could be a total blunder !

Last night 21 Jump Street made a great ( comedy wise) 700 thousand from mod night showings, which would mean around 30 million weekend, but I still think it is going to breakout and really do great business. Also on Jump Streets side is that not only has the marketing been great, but reviews are on its side as well getting an astounding 87% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes. Heading for second this weekend is no doubt The Lorax, followed by John Carter which is looking to fall around 50%. Below are the Final Estimates for the top 5 movies this weekend.

1.) 21 Jump Street- $ 34.0 million

2.) The Lorax_-$ 26.5 million

3.) John Carter- $ 15.5 million

4.) Project X- $ 6 .7 million

5 Act of Valor- $ 3.4 million

The answer to the question of what theater was pictured at the bottom of Wednesday post was Atlanta’s own FOX Theater.

Check back Saturday morning to see Fridays crosses, and then again Sunday for the total weekend gross! have a great weekend and comment below !
