Film Lingo’s Box Office Battle was far from a fare competition this weekend as The Hunger Games didn’t waste any time making an astounding 155 million in just 3 day ! That number is the third biggest opening of all time, behind the dark knight and Harry Potter 8. Also, it is worth saying that independent film October Baby did big bussness in in its own right grossing enough money to make the top eight ! The rest of the top ten actually did better than expected, especially 21 Jum Street and The Lorax. Here is the top 10:

1.) The Hunger Games- $ 155 million, $ 155 million total gross

2.) 21 Jump Street- $ 21 million, $ 71 million total gross

3.) The Lorax- $ 13.1 million, $ 177.1 million total gross

4.) John Carter- $ 5.0 million, $ 62.3 million total gross

5.) Act of Valor- $ 2 million, $ 65.9 million total gross

6.) Project X- $ 1.9 million, $ 51.7 million total gross

7.) A Thousand Words- $ 1.9 million, $ 14.9 million total gross

8.) October Baby(2012)- $ 1.7 million, $ 1.7 million total

9.) Safe House- $ 1.4 million, $ 122.6 million total gross

10.) Journey 2- $ 1.3 million, $ 97.1 million total gross
